North American Campus Chinese Film Showcase

North American Campus Chinese Film Showcase

Hello China Media officially kicked off the North American Campus Chinese Film Showcase, which was held at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, New Jersey, with a screening of the film “Jinpa” directed by Wan Ma Tsetan and produced by Wong Kar Wai.

The purpose of this campus tour is to give international students and overseas cultural audiences in the U.S. an in-depth understanding of Chinese-language films, and to promote the exchange of Chinese and U.S. film art and culture from the perspective of the creators. After the screening, in-depth film discussions and exchanges will be organized among film students, directors, producers and other industry professionals.

It is hoped that the screening will build a cultural bridge between China and the United States, open new perspectives on the exchange of film art between the two countries, and aim to provide a platform for cultural exchange for the new generation of Chinese film creators in the United States. Currently, China and the U.S. are the world’s two largest film markets, increasing with the number of new and old immigrants in the U.S. The company expects that Chinese and American filmmakers will work together to create stories that truly reflect the lives of Chinese in the U.S., so that the global audience can, through these works, experience the journey of Chinese in the U.S. from a wider perspective, as well as their unique charms in the global culture. With the continuous development of Chinese film art and the accelerated pace of internationalization, cross-cultural exchange activities are particularly important. At the same time, it also enables international audiences to have a more in-depth understanding of Chinese movies, conveys traditional Chinese cultural symbols, enriches the cultural life of international students, and promotes exchanges and understanding between different cultures.

Since then, we have also conducted movie screenings on the campuses of Johns Hopkins, University of Pittsburgh and Yale University.
